Task #9....phase one

uncle-sam-wants-join-army parody This image is from Image generator, interesting web 2.0 tool, a bit hard to ge through, by the time a found something simple, I had nearly 12 pages open and well...fun if you have nothing better to do than play on the computer for HOURS. I would this very little in a classroom, there is way too much distraction within all the different flying pages and adds. But still fun!

Most Influential Blog Post 2010 – The Edublog Awards
This is very interesting Blog to follow. Enjoy!

Task # 10...Saving Time

The concept of Google Reader is great in concept, but still it works if you can sit in front of the computer for HOURS. After fighting out of frustration on task 9, I realize....where computer are suppose to help us save time, well for some of us old-school, all I use computers for is to check email...well we have room for improvement. I see now that just over coming the fear of computer usage is not enough and neither is just knowing how to email. We must all continuosly welcome the idea of learning more. I think as I improve so will my teaching skills. I'm not giving up! I would not want my student to give up and neither will I - I will get this whole' techy stuff! And so...as I enbrace this stuff, I certainly will use it in my classrooms in the future!

Reflections about Task # 7 and 8 (Lets back up and talk about Flickr)

In Task 7 - The website and web application usage of Flickr, enabled this blogger to connect a photo, paste it into this blog and reflection on this photo. The most important issue with adding photo to a blog is giving credit where credit is do. Truly, unless you have taken the photo always add the following: Image Courtesy of...
Using Flickr is a great classroom tool that can allow students to explore photos as well upload their own. This is great for allowing student to work in group such as class projects.
Secondly, exploring something like "Mashups", where two different components of two different websites come together to produce something like photos from Flickr to to spell out words...is a great creative tool for student to explore. A teacher can add elements of artistic value to his/her lessons, they can even enable the use of technology and aspects of photo enhancements to projects for higher and lower learns. The benefits are vast and numerous, the creative motivation is endless. A tool to remember to use in enhancing lessons...the internet a great instrument of learning!

Task #8 - Where are you thinking of going?

Global Travels, the places my mind wonders. The places my souls takes flight and the moments my senses awaken. I bring my curiosities to exchange for your beauty and differences. I lend a ear to the oceans who call, I exchange a smile and nod to the friendly faces of your land. I travel on an endless journey of exploration in learning. (ok enough of my rambling about why and how I love traveling) How do you Learn? What is your moment of inspiration?

TASK #7

Napier Beach - Napier, New Zealand

Image Courtesty of TRAVEL NUT

This is a beautiful photo of Napier Beach in New Zealand. A place I hope to travel and visit some day. One thing I believe makes for a good teacher is a person who has a few travels underneath their belt. Education is Global! To further ones education, one must experience our global connectedness. I wonder, what are you dreams of travel?
